How Did She Get Signed?
Well, we aren't going to point fingers *cough* Nick *cough* but we must say one thing up front: she sure as hell did not get her record deal on her own. Many of you will put up a good arguement about this, but facts are facts. Nick Carter helped her get signed. For those of you that don't know, our little carpet eater Shmandy was dating Nick of the Backstreet Boys when she got signed. Some of you are saying that he just helped her out a little, well he did, but her helped out a lot. although he didn't want Manduh to have a singing career, he helped set up the whole MCA deal. And the reason MCA signed her is because they feel that she'll be successful because she is a Backstreet Girlfriend. They know that the fans will be curious to what a Backstreet girlfriend sounds like, so they will buy her album. Most likely fans will buy her album out of curiosity and also because they want to see what it is that Nick is attracted to, so they can do the same... Click here for a deeper explaination.
If any of you have actually heard Manduh sing and actually know a thing or two about talent, it is obvious that she has none. Thus explaining that there is no possible way she could have gotten signed without Nick. Therefore, many of you are probably wondering, "If Manduh only used Nick to get a record deal, why is she still with him?" This question has numerous answers. One being that once the FAQ on his web site went up, Manduh knew that her career would go nowhere with millions of Backstreet Boys fans out to get her. she knew that with the truth posted, there would be no possible way that she could carry on with her career with no support. So after they broke up and the FAQ went up, she did everything in her power to get back with him. Including calling repeatedly to apologize and having her mom help pursue (stalk) him until he took her back. She also made it a point to be seen in public and if she ever overheard anyone talking about Nick, she would go off telling them that she and Nick were still together so to "back off".
It's pretty obvious that Nick was not in his right state of mind because he took her back, even after everything that happened.
